Margem Floor Rug

Margem, which means margin or edge in Portuguese, is a collection of rugs by designer Chris L. Halstrøm which explores the power of framing. Each rug is presented as a plush pelage defined by its borders — where contrasting textures and tones create boundaries that both contain and activate space. The simplicity is deliberate, allowing the inherent qualities of wool to stand out, from the subtle interplay of organic undyed wool in the floor rugs to the bold contrasts of natural undyed and organic hand-dyed wools in the wall pieces. These rugs draw on Chris’ minimalist approach to design, where a single gesture, the frame, effectively delineates and demarcates space, anchoring a room.
