Mangas, meaning sleeves in Portuguese, names the feature that defines the sofa. The characteristic arms are broad, softly curved, and upholstered to the same comfort as the seat, wide enough to lean into, to rest your head on, or to lazily drape yourself across. At the end of each armrest, a small flat surface of exposed wood remains uncovered, a temporary perch for a drink, a book, or a resting palm. A solid wood frame, simply structured, forms the base, an honest counterpoint to the warmth and plushness of the seating above. The intention throughout is a sofa that invites you to settle in fully: upright, sideways, stretched out, or curled up with a loved one. Mangas holds you as comfortably as furniture can.
