The Esfera Table Lamp extends the language of the Esfera Pendant into a new domestic register: from overhead to intimate, from suspended to grounded. The wooden sphere remains the constant, warm and quietly luminous. What has been added is the structure built around it.
Two slender stainless steel legs rise from a circular base, curving to cradle the globular shade in a ring. The frame is skeletal and precisely made, informed by the practical, detail-oriented approach to metal construction that designer Jenni Roininen developed under her mentor, Finnish design master Yrjö Kukkapuro. Cord and structure are openly expressed, with nothing concealed.
The lamp and its base are intentionally designed as two separate components, a considered choice that speaks to longevity: each part can be maintained, replaced, or recovered independently, extending the life of both and simplifying the return and recycling of materials at the end of its useful life. The angle of light can be adjusted by hand, lifting and repositioning the sphere to direct the beam where it is needed; toward a favourite object, across a surface, at a book, or reflected from a wall to cast a softer, more diffuse glow.
