Camada Rug
Camada means layer in Portuguese, and it is a change in the layers of the weave, rather than any shift in pile height, that gives this rug its pattern. Across the rug's surface, two bands in dark brown threads intersect off-centre: a thicker one running the full width of the rug, and a singular thin one running its full length.
The palette is deliberately restrained: the base is in a warm sandy tone that almost recedes into a room, allowing the rug's neutrality to fit into a variety of spaces without competing with the furniture or interior style of the room. Underfoot, the cotton weave is soft and reassuring. Camada is a rug that rewards a room arranged around it. Its scale and composition gives the room proportion by providing an anchoring frame for furniture, and its subtlety ensures it never overreaches.
