This set of three Calabash Basket Sculptures combines strips of chestnut veneer with transparent monofilament fishing lines, resulting in sculptural vessels that are functional works of art. Idoia Cuesta, a well-respected basketry artist hailing from Galicia, enjoys pushing the boundaries of what weaving can produce, resulting in this series of baskets that can hold any range of items which are then softly visible through the translucency of the fishing lines. Available in three different shapes and heights, Calabash showcases Idoia’s expert skills in manipulating and combining both materials into sturdy, sculptural forms.
