Amidst the grandeur of The Conary, a historic townhouse in Copenhagen, Enter the Salon unlocked its doors to a warm and welcoming start to 3daysofdesign with fresh coffee and croissants on opening morning. Curated by designer Signe Hytte, Enter the Salon featured a delightful display of new and existing design objects from Origin Made, alongside furniture, lighting, and other home accessories from esteemed international brands such as Karimoku Case Study, Carpe Diem Beds, Ambientec, Ladies & Gentlemen Studio, Silkeborg Uldspinderi, and August Sandgren.
Over the course of three short yet eventful days, the event welcomed keen-eyed design lovers and seasoned industry professionals eager to experience the convergence of design, art, and poetry.

On the second day, the venue hosted a design talk on the topic "The Dream of Danish Design" with distinguished panellists Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen of Norm Architects, Stine Find Osther of Kvadrat, Els van Hoorebeeck of &tradition, and furniture designer and cabinet maker Anker Bak.
The atrium of The Conary buzzed with excitement during the design talk. The audience was in rapt attention and posed meaningful questions to the panellists, picking their minds on where Danish design was headed in the next years. This rich exchange of views emphasized the exhibition's intent to inspire and challenge conventional norms.
The convival sharing of perspectives and ideas continued over cocktails and canapes at the end of the talk.
Signe designed Enter the Salon to feel like a culturally savvy, indelibly tasteful private residence. The exhibition invited guests to explore its many layers, fostering an environment where new movements would start and conversations would flow casually as visitors interacted with the designs on display and with one another.
The brands selected to be in the show, contributed to the overall narrative of the exhibition, each with a shared dedication to quality craftsmanship and timeless design. Origin Made's new launches and other existing pieces were styled seamlessly alongside the other brands.
One of the new designs which makes up Part II of our 2024 collection is the Lado Vase designed by Norm Architects and handcrafted by Francisco Andrade. Lado, which means ‘side’ in Portuguese, is an aesthetically minimal wall vase that is mounted on one of its sides to a wall surface. This unexpected typology for a vase gently beckons for a delicate sprig or a vibrant blossom to be placed in it, enlivening interiors with a touch of nature.
The Calabash Basket Sculptures, shown in the image below, and placed commandingly on a window sill by the main staircase, were designed and handwoven by renowned Galician artisan Idoia Cuesta who combined strips of chestnut veneer with transparent monofilament fishing lines resulting in sturdy sculptural forms that are works of functional art. Elsewhere, Idoia's second design, the Barco Basket Sculptures came in woven forms reminiscent of Spanish fishing boats.
The Flan Side Table in pasta gres clay and prominently displayed at the exhibition is the result of a collaborative endeavour between Origin Made's co-founder Gabriel Tan and ceramicist Joaquim Pombal. The soft curves of the Flan Side Table brings to mind the traditional Portuguese dessert Pudim de ovos. Interesting finishes were selected to give the Flan Side Tables unusual expressions, adding depth and texture to interiors.
Three days passed in a flash. Enter the Salon was a truly enriching experience and a testament to the enduring importance of craftsmanship and the beauty of thoughtful design. We greatly cherish this opportunity to share Part II of our new 2024 collection featuring four new designs, along with existing pieces from Origin Made and exhibited alongside other international brands, in a rich, layered experience that celebrated the intersection of the past and present, art and design.
