The Weaver’s Stool came about when Gabriel Tan met Maria Adelina, a weaver in her sixties and the last known one in Paços Ferreira, a furniture- producing town in Portugal. Gabriel Tan’s design fully showcases her craft - this stretcher-less stool construction highlights the woven paper cord surface and gives it paramount attention. This special edition stool comes in an ash wood frame and a one-off weave pattern which represents a design exploration by the designer. The weave pattern is more elaborate than the eventual bespoke weave pattern selected for the product.
