Master Potter António Marques discovered the craft through his uncle when he was 14 years old. His life has revolved around clay ever since. What distinguishes his creations from other potters in Portugal is his process of using a stone to derive at a polished finish for the clay. Sr. António truly enjoys spending time at his wheel innovating new pieces, and he believes that passion and patience are imperative qualities in this profession, but that anyone with the right mindset and hours of practise will be able to succeed at this work.
