Finnish designer Jenni Roininen applies her Nordic understanding of light and material in the creation of these lustrous pearls of timber. Each piece begins as a dense block, carefully shaped by master craftsman Carlos Barbosa until a perfect sphere is formed. It is then hollowed for its inner void to hold space for light to dwell. The Esfera Lamp’s wood body maintains its material presence, with its natural grain pattern and rich wood tones divulging its species. Casting a focused beam downwards from the base of its globular body, the Esfera Lamp provides intentional illumination whether suspended individually or in a visually arresting array.
